In view of the Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Platinum Jubilee of Delhi Police, a Cultural Programme - Raja Ravi Varma Chitrakar Samman Samaroh, "Chitranjali" was organised at Adarsh auditorium Police Headquarters to commemorate Raja Ravi Varma's 174th birth anniversary in association with Ministry of Culture and Megh Mandal Sansthan. Raja Ravi Varma's paintings have been a source of cultural and spiritual inspiration. Sh G Kishan Reddy, Hon'ble Union Minister of Culture, Tourism & DoNER was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Professor Kaptan Singh Solanki (Former Governor of Punjab, Haryana & Tripura) was the Guest of Honour.

Closing ceremony of the 18th Summer Camp was held at Thyagraj Indoor Stadium, Delhi on 27.06.2022 at 10:00 am. More than 3000 school girls and women participated in the event. Sh. Rakesh Asthana, Commissioner of Police, Delhi was the Chief Guest for the event. He interacted with the participants and reiterated the importance of self defence training for girls and women in the city. He appreciated the efforts made by the participants in learning self defence techniques from Delhi Police. He exhorted the participants to spread awareness about Sashakti Programme, so that more and more girls and women could benefit from the initiative. He also lauded the laurels brought to the country by 3 special lady guests for the occasion, Dr. Sunita Godara, Ms. Pooja Rani and Ms. Arundhati Choudhary.

CP, DELHI INAUGURATES NEWLY RENOVATED PREMISE OF DISTRICT POLICE LINE COMPLEX, NORTH WEST DISTRICT

Sh. Rakesh Asthana, Commissioner of Police, Delhi inaugurated the newly renovated premises of ‘District Line Police Complex’ North-West District at Ashok Vihar, Delhi on 24.06.22, for the welfare of staff. Newly renovated premise of ‘District Line Police Complex’ includes facilities like modern barracks- “Nilay” for male, “Akshee” for female & “Nikunj” for multi-tasking staff, training complex “Deeksha”, recreation hall “Nirvin”, badminton court, stage, offices etc. The aim is to provide a comfortable space for police personnel where they can rest, play & rejuvenate after their duties. On the occasion, new state of the art Conference Hall “Manthan” of the district was also inaugurated by the chief guest.

The Welfare Unit of Delhi Police under Smt. Shalini Singh, Special Commissioner of Police/Welfare celebrated International Yoga Day on 21.06.2022 in the lawns of Delhi Police Headquarters, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi. Sh Rakesh Asthana, Commissioner of Police, Delhi was the Chief Participant in this event. Several senior police officers of the ranks of Special Commissioner of Police, Joint Commissioners, Addl CPs, DCPs as well as other personnel took part in the event which commenced early in the morning. Several Yoga instructors exhibited various yoga movements for participants. Later Commissioner of Police, Delhi interacted with the participants and shared his experiences about the benefits of practicing yoga, an ancient tradition of India to ensure well-being, physical as well as mentally.

On 15.06.2022, Sh. Rakesh Asthana, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi visited the new office building of Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) and Special Police Unit for North-Eastern Region (SPUNER) at Nanakpura, Moti Bagh, Delhi. During the visit, Commissioner of Police, Delhi interacted with students from the North Eastern States and also felicitated ‘Good Samaritans’, who had helped the people from North East in Delhi. Delhi Police is committed to the safety, security and empowerment of women and children in Delhi. At the same time Delhi Police accords very high priority to safety and security of persons, especially students, from the North Eastern States of India. Both, the Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) and Special Police Unit for North-Eastern Region (SPUNER) at Nanakpura, Moti Bagh, Delhi ensure that these goals are adequately achieved in the city.

Delhi Police is continuously modernising its force by inducting the latest innovations and technologies in policing be it in the area of crime, law & order, traffic management, intelligence collection & the delivery of services to the public etc. In order to enhance the aforesaid process, stake holders are being roped in from various research organisations & universities. It is in this direction, an MoU has been signed between Delhi Police and Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi on 14th June 2022. The MoU will pave the way for scouting new technology, evaluation of existing technology based projects, development of technology based solution to meet future challenges and for roping in suitable resource person in Technical Committees of Delhi Police.

Sh Rakesh Asthana, Commissioner of Police, Delhi announced adoption of ‘Jeevan Dayini’ Blood Donation crusade by Delhi Police at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. Padmashree Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS, internationally renowned pulmonologist was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr. Vanshree Singh, Director, Indian Red Cross Society was the Guest of Honour. Every year June 14th is celebrated as Blood Donor Day across the world to raise awareness about saving lives by blood donations to save lives of people affected by disease and medical conditions. A dedicated mobile number 6828400400 was pronounced as Blood Donation Helpline and beneficiaries & volunteers can connect to this helpline through whatsapp & Telegram. Blood donation camps were also organised on this occasion in Police Headquarters and district/units offices as part of Delhi Police Jeevandayani wherein about 1300 police personnel donated blood.

DELHI POLICE SIGNS MoU WITH NATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE FORCE (NDRF) FOR TRAINING OF POLICE OFFICERS/ INVESTIGATORS

Delhi Police and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have joined hands to evolve and impart comprehensive disaster management training at all levels of basic police training. Shri Rakesh Asthana, Commissioner of Police, Delhi was the chief guest on this occasion. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed by Shri Satyendra Garg, Spl CP (Training) and Shri Atul Karwal, DG, NDRF at Vimarsh Hall, PHQ, today. The partnership aims to disseminate practical knowledge and procedures among police personnel and to make them aware about their role in the event of disaster through certificate course comprising of live demonstrations, lectures, workshops and group discussions to imbibe skills of disaster management.

Shri Rakesh Asthana, Commissioner of Police, Delhi announced several welfare schemes for serving/retired personnel and their families in a ceremony ‘PARHIT’ held at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, today. Continuing with fresh beneficial measures for police families the CP, Delhi launched the revamped website of Welfare Wing. The refurbished website link offers welfare related information and solutions i.e Jobs on Compassionate Ground, Delhi Police Welfare Scheme (DPWS), DPMF, Health & Wellness, Mess booking facility, PFED facilities etc. Besides, all the documents including ID-Card, Pension Payment Order, Discharge Certificate and Senior Citizen Card of the retirees will now be provided on Digi-Locker, so that these documents remain secure and handy with all our ex-personnel.

Delhi Police held MoU Signing & Employment Offer Presentation Ceremony for YUVA 2.0 at Adarsh Auditorium, PHQ. Shri Anil Baijal, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Delhi was the chief guest. Smt. Chhaya Sharma, Jt. CP/EOW & Eastern Range and Shri Sandesh Tilekar, Director (Entrepreneurship), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), GoI signed and exchanged the Memorandum of Understanding. YUVA 2.0 scheme aspires to provide vocational training to around 10,000 fresh candidates across 67 Police Stations with active participation of corporate houses. It will get support of World Bank under GoI’s “Sankalp” scheme.

The Education Centre comprises of a modern Computer Lab and a well stocked library for students preparing for competitive exams. The Computer Lab is equipped with 24 Desktop computers with high speed internet and a large interactive panel to facilitate communication with experts and students outside the classroom. The students will be offered certificate and diploma courses covering Basic Computer Concepts, Computer Applications and Computerized Financial Accounting.

Newly constructed premises of Cyber PS includes facilities like modern work-stations for investigating officers equipped with high speed internet & data connectivity, latest computer hardwares & softwares, State-of-the-art forensic lab, visitor’s room, CCTNS room, IO’s rooms, barracks, malkhana room, record room etc. The aim is to deal with the complaints & cases related to cyber crime with alacrity, swift response & professionalism and to ensure quality investigations of such crimes.

Anu Asthana, President, PFWS flagged-off ‘Ladli Run’ at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, in which more than 7500 schoolgirls from 38 schools of Delhi took part, today. The CP, Delhi administered the Meri Beti Mera Abimaan oath on this occasion. The CP, Delhi also felicitated 25 women personnel from the rank of Constable to ACP for their exemplary contribution in various arms of policing inter-alia investigation of crime against women cases, imparting self defence training to girls & women and spreading awareness on gender matters.

A friendly cricket match of G Murali Trophy between CP Delhi XI and Media XI was organised at New Police Lines Ground on 05-03-2022. Shri Rakesh Asthana, CP, Delhi led the police team, while Shri Suresh Jha captained the media persons. Internationally acclaimed cricketers Shri Virendra Sehwag, Shri Suresh Raina & Shri Amit Mishra graced the occasion. Winning the toss, the Media XI opted to bat first and made 116 runs in stipulated 20 overs. The CP XI easily chased the target within 17 overs with 7 wickets to spare.

Implementation of e-Chittha will not only ensure optimal use of manpower resources, but also increase efficiency and transparency in working. Thus, the staff will get sufficient time for family and their own health & wellbeing and would work with more zeal & enthusiasm.
