Gautam Gambhir, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Padma Shree, Arjuna Awardee and former international cricket player attended the event as the Chief Guest, joining him as Guest of Honour was, Sh. Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, and Sh. Jaspal Rana, a former international shooting Gold Medalist, Padma Shree and Arjuna Awardee joined as Special Guest . The other revered guests included Sh. V.P. Singh from ONGC and Sh. Kailash Singh Pangte from IOC, Smt. Ritu Arora, President PFWS, Smt. Jyoti Chahal, Sh. Sanjay Kumar, Spl. CP/Welfare and Sh. The Delhi Police today organized Commemoration Day Parade in remembrance of Police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty while serving their respective forces between 01.09.2022 and 31.08.2023. The Parade was held at Parade Ground, New Police Lines Ground, Kingsway Camp, Delhi. The Commissioner of Police, Delhi Shri Sanjay Arora read out the names of martyrs of Delhi Police 03 and State and Central Police Organizations who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, during the period. In all, 188 police personnel including three of Delhi Police breathed their last while serving in their respective forces.

Under the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Pakwada’, a 5 km long Special Awareness Campaign, Walkathon was organized from India Gate to PS Parliament Street. Shri Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police, Delhi flagged off the walkathon at India Gate with the motto ' Say no to drugs, Yes to life'. Around 5000 participants from both police and public participated in the walkathon.

The programme was organized as part of Delhi Police Week-2023 celebrations and was in alignment with the G-20 goal of creating sustainable and livable cities with a focus on sustainable mobility. The CP, Delhi also presented the newly released book “Kissa Khaki ka – Varsh ek, Smritiyan anek” to the police personnel/teams whose tales of courage and compassion in line of duty have been highlighted through this series. He also felicitated Dr. Vartika Nanda, the voice behind the podcast, Akhya - the creative designing team of Delhi Police and all the team members of PRO who untiringly worked at the back end, to turn this weekly podcast series into reality.

Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police Delhi released a book meant for learning Self-Defense techniques and inaugurated newly created Obstacles Course at Parade Ground, New Police Lines, Kingsway camp, Delhi, newly renovated Study Centre in New Police Lines complex. In the first Inter-Battalion Competition “VIBHAV-2022” more than 865 Officers/Men from all the 8 DAP Battalions participated, 8th Battalion emerged as the Best Battalion. CP Delhi also felicitated winners of the competition.

Delhi Police today destroyed the drugs seized under the "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" in the presence of Sh. Vinai Kumar Saxena, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. Commissioner of Police, Delhi Shri Sanjay Arora and members of the disposal committees were also present on the occasion. The Lt. Governor, who witnessed the incineration of the drugs, in an incinerator at Nilothi Delhi, expressed his satisfaction over the efforts being undertaken by the Delhi Police.

Sh. Vinai Kumar Saxena, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi visited Delhi Police Academy, Jharoda Kalan, today. Sh. Sanjay Kumar Arora, Commissioner of Police, Delhi welcomed the hon’ble guest. During the visit, Hon’ble LG, Delhi took a round of DPA indoor and outdoor infrastructure of training and other facilities, including the Firing Range. The CP, Delhi welcomed the hon’ble guest and briefed him about the training activities of Delhi Police Academy. During his welcome address the CP, highlighted that crime trend is now changing and sophisticated criminals have turned towards. Therefore, fresh inductees are being trained to handle the Dark net & other cybercrimes with latest techniques.

On the occasion of Sewa Diwas Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, Honourable LG Delhi inaugurated We Care Delhi Police Community policing initiative in a glittering event at Kartvaya Path, India Gate today. The aim of this initiative is to spread awareness amongst the people regarding different schemes Initiatives of Delhi Police to maintain coordination with public and establish police public interface. Speaking on the occasion Honourable LG underlined the importance of People Police interface to achieve the goals of preventive and humane policing. He expressed the hope that community interaction events which will also include rendition by the Police Band will attract Students, RWAs, MWAs, Senior Citizen and others. Commending the efforts of Delhi Police, he said that Community Outreach Initiatives like these help in providing protection to children, women, senior citizens and foreign tourists.

Commissioner of Police, Delhi visited the Delhi Police Academy campus at Jharoda Kalan and inspected various facilities available for the trainees. He visited Administrative Block, Academic Block, Armoury building and barracks and enquired about the various facilities and training methodology. Sh. Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police also interacted with the trainees. During his interaction with the trainees of various ranks, he shared his experiences of his training days and emphasized that training has to be holistic. He advised the trainees to take keen interest in their training and to keep on learning various skills required by a police officer to perform efficiently in discharging his duties in the field. He advised the trainees that training of police officer should never end.

CP DELHI FLAGS OFF TIRANGA RALLY FROM PHQ

Sh. Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police, Delhi flagged off Tiranga Rally from the PHQ, Jai Singh Road, today. 75 vehicles covered several prominent places in New Delhi District on a designated route during the rally, under Govt of India Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. Har Ghar Tiranga campaign has been launched under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations to encourage citizens to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it to mark the 75th year of Indias independence. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of citizens and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag. Similar rallies were held simultaneously in all the 15 Districts of Delhi.

Capacity building commission (CBC) to train policemen in soft skills, inspire them to be citizen centric in their approach through proper response to their grievances with a humane touch. Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Hon’ble Union Home Secretary launched “Mission Karmyogi Capacity Building Programme” for Delhi Police personnel at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, today. The programme aims to make a pool of Master Trainers in soft skills to propagate them among all personnel of Delhi Police. GoI’s premier body Capacity Building Commission (CBC) patronises this scheme with an aim to provide technical & professional support to government officials to beget renewed motivation to serve the citizenry for generating maximum efficiency.

Closing ceremony of the 18th Summer Camp was held at Thyagraj Indoor Stadium, Delhi on 27.06.2022 at 10:00 am. More than 3000 school girls and women participated in the event. Sh. Rakesh Asthana, Commissioner of Police, Delhi was the Chief Guest for the event. He interacted with the participants and reiterated the importance of self defence training for girls and women in the city. He appreciated the efforts made by the participants in learning self defence techniques from Delhi Police. He exhorted the participants to spread awareness about Sashakti Programme, so that more and more girls and women could benefit from the initiative. He also lauded the laurels brought to the country by 3 special lady guests for the occasion, Dr. Sunita Godara, Ms. Pooja Rani and Ms. Arundhati Choudhary.

Rakesh Asthana, Commissioner of Police, Delhi inaugurated the newly renovated premises of ‘District Line Police Complex’ North-West District at Ashok Vihar, Delhi on 24.06.22, for the welfare of staff. Newly renovated premise of ‘District Line Police Complex’ includes facilities like modern barracks- “Nilay” for male, “Akshee” for female & “Nikunj” for multi-tasking staff, training complex “Deeksha”, recreation hall “Nirvin”, badminton court, stage, offices etc. The aim is to provide a comfortable space for police personnel where they can rest, play & rejuvenate after their duties. On the occasion, new state of the art Conference Hall “Manthan” of the district was also inaugurated by the chief guest.

The Welfare Unit of Delhi Police under Smt. Shalini Singh, Special Commissioner of Police/Welfare celebrated International Yoga Day on 21.06.2022 in the lawns of Delhi Police Headquarters, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi. Several Yoga instructors exhibited various yoga movements for participants. Delhi Police is continuously modernising its force by inducting the latest innovations and technologies in policing be it in the area of crime, law & order, traffic management, intelligence collection & the delivery of services to the public etc. In order to enhance the aforesaid process, stake holders are being roped in from various research organisations & universities. It is in this direction, an MoU has been signed between Delhi Police and Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi on 14th June 2022. The MoU will pave the way for scouting new technology, evaluation of existing technology based projects, development of technology based solution to meet future challenges and for roping in suitable resource person in Technical Committees of Delhi Police.

Sh Rakesh Asthana, Commissioner of Police, Delhi announced adoption of ‘Jeevan Dayini’ Blood Donation crusade by Delhi Police at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. Padmashree Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS, internationally renowned pulmonologist was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr. Vanshree Singh, Director, Indian Red Cross Society was the Guest of Honour. Every year June 14th is celebrated as Blood Donor Day across the world to raise awareness about saving lives by blood donations to save lives of people affected by disease and medical conditions. A dedicated mobile number 6828400400 was pronounced as Blood Donation Helpline and beneficiaries & volunteers can connect to this helpline through whatsapp & Telegram. Blood donation camps were also organised on this occasion in Police Headquarters and district/units offices as part of Delhi Police Jeevandayani wherein about 1300 police personnel donated blood.

DELHI POLICE SIGNS MoU WITH NATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE FORCE (NDRF) FOR TRAINING OF POLICE OFFICERS/ INVESTIGATORS

Delhi Police and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have joined hands to evolve and impart comprehensive disaster management training at all levels of basic police training. Shri Rakesh Asthana, Commissioner of Police, Delhi was the chief guest on this occasion. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed by Shri Satyendra Garg, Spl CP (Training) and Shri Atul Karwal, DG, NDRF at Vimarsh Hall, PHQ, today. Continuing with fresh beneficial measures for police families the CP, Delhi launched the revamped website of Welfare Wing. The refurbished website link offers welfare related information and solutions i.e Jobs on Compassionate Ground, Delhi Police Welfare Scheme (DPWS), DPMF, Health & Wellness, Mess booking facility, PFED facilities etc. Besides, all the documents including ID-Card, Pension Payment Order, Discharge Certificate and Senior Citizen Card of the retirees will now be provided on Digi-Locker, so that these documents remain secure and handy with all our ex-personnel.

The Education Centre comprises of a modern Computer Lab and a well stocked library for students preparing for competitive exams. The Computer Lab is equipped with 24 Desktop computers with high speed internet and a large interactive panel to facilitate communication with experts and students outside the classroom. A friendly cricket match of G Murali Trophy between CP Delhi XI and Media XI was organised at New Police Lines Ground on 05-03-2022. Shri Rakesh Asthana, CP, Delhi led the police team, while Shri Suresh Jha captained the media persons. Internationally acclaimed cricketers Shri Virendra Sehwag, Shri Suresh Raina & Shri Amit Mishra graced the occasion. Winning the toss, the Media XI opted to bat first and made 116 runs in stipulated 20 overs. The CP XI easily chased the target within 17 overs with 7 wickets to spare.
