At an event held today at the Multi Purpose Hall, North Campus, University of Delhi, 12,600 stolen lost mobile phones recovered by Delhi Police under its special initiative ‘Operation Vishwas’ were handed over to their rightful owners. The function was presided over by Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. The program, organised by Delhi Police, was attended by Shri Satish Golchha, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, senior officers, and representatives of several RWAs and MWAs. On this occasion, a Traffic Exhibition Van was also inaugurated and a safety guide booklet was launched.
In the august presence of Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, and Sh. Satish Golchha, Commissioner of Police, alongwith senior officers, a Mega Drug Destruction event was held today to destroy 1,700 kg of narcotics at Biotic Waste Solutions Pvt. Ltd., SSI Industrial Area, GT Karnal Road, Delhi. On this occasion, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor also announced the setting up of Delhi’s first dedicated Anti Narcotics Task Force ANTF police station to achieve the goal of a Drug Free Delhi by 2027 more effectively.
The Police Families Welfare Society,PFWS celebrated its 54th Foundation Day with great grandeur and splendour at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, Delhi. The occasion was graced by Smt. Rekha Gupta, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, as the Chief Guest. The celebration was held under the leadership of Smt. Rachna Golchha, President, PFWS, and witnessed the gracious presence of former PFWS Presidents, senior Delhi Police officers, core committee members, and other distinguished guests. Families of Delhi Police personnel from all 14 Welfare Centres participated with immense enthusiasm.
Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Honourable Lieutenant Governor, Delhi, visited the Delhi Traffic Police Headquarters in Todapur. During the visit, Traffic Praharis who contributed to promoting road discipline through enforcement were felicitated. Two newly procured disaster response vehicles were flagged off to support traffic personnel in managing road crises. A new fleet of 38 scooties was also flagged off for women traffic police personnel. The Hon'ble LG was briefed about the Traffic unit's overall working, including regulation and prosecution aspects. He also reviewed the Enforcement Unit and Public Interface Unit at the Traffic Headquarters.
